As for Chinese poetry, I'm afraid you may have misunderstood it in regards to your so-called modern emotions. Don't you know some experts have already pointed out that we can even find true spirit of modernity in some Tang poems, especially those of Li Shangyin's? Plus, I even think almost all modern emotions can be found in ancient Chinese poems.

I believe there is something poetic that has nothing to do with languages. That's why we translate poems.
